Verification of welding
The spreadsheet verifies many welding connections using standard technical literature and Eurocode norms. For some welding cases the italian NTC 2008 norm is also considered, considering the equivalent Eurocode method with stresses calculated on the overturned throat section.
The aim is to offer a design tool both for fast and detailed calculation of a welded joint in many typical configurations that they can be found in the practice.
The spreadsheet is divided into different sections, described hereafter:
- Full penetration welding
This section reports the general condition for full penetration welding case (butt weld) as per Eurocode norms EN 1993 1-8.
- General welding dimensioning
This section reports the verification of fillet welding as per Eurocode norms EN 1993 1-8 considering the general formula and knowing the stress status.
- Welding with T, M and N
This section reports some fillet welding cases of plates subjected to general forces of shear T, bending M and tension N.
Both verifications with stresses on the throat and overturned throat section are reported.
- Welding in tension and shear
This section reports some fillet welding cases of plates subjected to shear and tension forces.
- Welding in tension
This section reports some fillet welding cases of plates subjected to tension force.
- Welding at shear
This section reports some fillet welding cases of plates subjected to shear forces.
- Welding verification 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
Six sections are reported considering some common fillet welding joints for a total number of 13 investigated cases.
A total number of 25 investigated cases is reported and verified in the spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet you will purchase and receive is an excel file compiled in a “.EXE” application file format identified by our icon image. See the Activation/Support page for more details.
Trial version
You can download a trial version of this spreadsheet for evaluation purpose. Click below to download the zipped file.
The trial version has a limited number of runs from its first activation on your computer, after that it stops to work and a new activation key is needed or the full version should be purchased.
To activate it, unzip the downloaded file, run the application and insert the Activation Key you will find in the .TXT file.
After key validation, the runs count starts on your machine and a window is displayed at each launch reminding you the remained launches.
